    Marshall Tractor History

Marshall built steam engines and entered the gasoline tractor market in 1908. It became famous for a diesel, based on the Lanz design, that appeared in 1929. Marshall continued with this basic, but effective, design until 1950s. Marshall then quit tractor production to focus on crawlers, but re-entered the tractor market by buying Leyland in the 1980s.
