The AGCO RT Series of tractors (100-155 hp) just grew in number, size and features with the addition of the RT165A. Not just a little bigger, the RT165A brings new features to the series, features that enhance productivity, comfort and fuel efficiency.

"The RT165A is a great all purpose, high horsepower tractor, big enough to pull a 16-row planter, but still agile enough for heavy loader work around the yard," says Todd Stucke, general marketing manager, AGCO tractors. "Combine its super efficient Tier III engine with HydraMaxx front suspension and its Auto-6 transmission with speed matching, and you have exceptional fuel efficiency in a tractor with road speeds of up to 32 miles per hour."

The new Tier III compliant turbocharged 7.4-liter AGCO engine produces 165 PTO hp. Thanks to its common rail fuel injection system and 24-valve head design, power is produced more efficiently and more quietly with a cleaner and more complete burn. That means fewer emissions and more power from every gallon of fuel. The engine also features third-generation Electronic Engine Management 3 (EEM3) which processes information from 45 sensors to ensure that the right amount of fuel is there at the right time for the job at hand. It also makes engine maintenance and troubleshooting easier with its engine history memory function.

The optional HydraMaxx front suspension takes the bumps out of rough terrain and keeps front wheels in constant contact with the ground. Front wheel slippage is eliminated and powerhop is reduced. Operator fatigue and time on the road are also reduced thanks to a smoother ride and the 32 mph road speed.

The Auto-6 transmission offers 24 forward and 24 reverse speeds. Operators can select from six power shift ratios that can be shifted under load without clutching within four mechanical ranges. Shifting between ranges is also clutchless. The autoshift feature, when in transport mode, automatically shifts between powershift ratios and gear ranges. In field work mode, the operator selects the range manually, while the autoshift transmission changes the powershift ratio automatically.

"The RT165A is loaded with technology, but not complexity," says Ryan Schaefer, product marketing specialist, AGCO tractors. "From the engine to the suspension to the transmission, the technology provides the power, efficiency and economy, but what the operator will notice is improved productivity. The technology just gets the job done better and simpler."

Comfort is key to productivity, and the RT165A with its hydraulic front suspension, pneumatic cab suspension and standard air ride seat is designed with operator productivity in mind. Interior design is efficient and ergonomic. The cab is the quietest in the industry and offers superior climate control.

"This tractor is designed for productivity from the front end to the rear and from the ‘front office’ cab to the optional front end 3-pt. hitch and PTO," says Stucke. "It is not only bigger, it is better than anything else in its class."
