The answer for those seeking multi-purpose power and manoeuvrability Keen to develop tractors in line with their requirements, Valtra always works closely with farming and other customers. The new A series is the result of this liaison, and incorporates a number of features designed to increase production and decrease fatigue.

The smallest machine in the range is the three-cylinder A65 at 63hp followed by the A75 at 74hp. Above these come two four cylinder models; the A85 at 88hp and the A95 at 98hp (engine powers to ISO 14396). All engines proved excellent torque characteristics.

Valtra A-Series tractor. As requested by users the Valtra A Series now features a 12F/12R synchromesh transmission with synchromesh shuttle. The wide, evenly spaced range of transmission ratios enables all types of operation to be undertaken, from those demanding creep speeds below 0.9 kph, up to transport speeds around 40kph. In keeping with Valtra’s policy of flexibility, to meet personal preferences or operational requirements, the shuttle lever may be located on either the right or the left side of the driver. Efficient hydraulic brakes guarantee positive braking from high speeds, even with heavy loads. There is of course a hydraulic trailer braking coupling.

Valtra’s Autocontrol is incorporated in the specification to ensure precise control of the lift linkage system. Numerous victories in ploughing competitions around the world testify to Autocontrol’s superior qualities.

During the design stages of the A Series versatility was strongly emphasised. Valtra A series three and four cylinder tractors are best suited for farming and forestry operations that require manoeuvrability, compactness and excellent traction. The A Series also offers an exceptional combination of power and manoeuvrability for contracting, property maintenance and municipal and amenity operations. Equipped with suitable tyres and with the rear view mirrors swung to a less vulnerable position, A Series tractors will access surprisingly narrow and low areas; thick stands of timber, low building entrances, even pedestrian road underpasses.

Within the cab, two heaters guarantee a working environment that is both warm and refreshing. Naturally, the driver’s seat revolves through 180 degrees to face the rear. This position makes the operation of ancillary hydraulic controls for timber cranes and similar equipment a safe, comfortable procedure. Fitted with a loader, the new A Series machines behave just as if they had been specifically designed for the task; manoeuvrability and an ideal weight distribution aiding the efficient operation of loader attachments.

The Valtra A Series is an efficient, cost-effective tractor capable of a wide variety of operations in a wide range of industries.
