Good things are coming in smaller packages from Case IH. Many key features found on Case IH row-crop tractors are now available on the new 66 to 82 PTO horsepower (hp) Case IH JXU Series Maxxima utility tractors.

"Just like its big brothers - Magnum and Maxxum - the JXU Series Maxxima line offers a 24x24 powershuttle transmission, electro-hydraulic left-hand shuttle, electronic draft control, turbocharged engines and leading three-point hitch lift capacity," says Joe Weicksel, marketing manager for Case IH JXU Series utility tractors. "Put all those features together in a versatile and maneuverable utility tractor, and you get a tool that will get more work done faster with less effort every day."

The JXU line is the premium offering in the Case IH Maxxima utility tractor family. Available in either 2-wheel drive or mechanical front-wheel drive (MFD) configurations, with a cab or flat deck and rollover protection system (ROPS), the JXU is specially designed for material handling functions and is well suited to haying and light field work.

Case IH 3.9-liter engines on the JX80U, JX90U and JX100U deliver 66, 76 and 82 PTO hp, respectively. All JXU Series tractor engines also feature dynamic balancers to reduce the engine's natural vibration and produce quieter operation.

The standard 24 forward, 12 reverse, two-speed powershift offers a fully synchronized mechanical left-hand shuttle control. The 24x24, two-speed powershift uses an electro-hydraulic powershuttle for fingertip control, allowing the operator to change direction without clutching. And the 20x12 creeper with fully synchronized mechanical shuttle allows for on-the-go shifting and quick shuttling between forward and reverse.

"The JXU transmissions are designed with operator productivity in mind," says Weicksel. "Our ergonomic controls and the large number of working and transport speeds are unmatched in the class."

JXU Series Maxxima tractors can be further customized with a variety of tire options for differing farm and field conditions, as well as a range of loaders and attachments.

New loaders boost productivity New Case IH LX132 and LX152 loaders complement JXU tractors, offering lift capacities of 2,700 and 3,400 pounds, respectively, and optional mechanical self-leveling. Both models can be attached using a standard quick connect or optional single-lever hydraulic quick connect system. Similarly, an optional skid steer-type quick-attach system permits quick change of buckets and attachments.

A mid-mount hydraulic valve package for JXU Series Maxxima tractors uses a joystick to control boom lift and bucket curl. In addition, a push-button control on the joystick permits operation of an optional diverter valve for additional attachments like grapples and bale grabbers. With 14.5 gallons per minute (gpm) dedicated to implements, sufficient hydraulic flow is always available to the loader. A separate 5.5 gpm system pump is dedicated to tractor systems like steering and transmission lubrication.

"When partnered with LX Series loaders, Case IH JXU tractors really shine in material handling applications," Weicksel explains. "Operators can gain tremendous productivity with joystick control and clutchless operation, and when they're ready to do daily maintenance checks or to head to the field, there's no need to detach the loader because the LX low-profile design doesn't interfere with visibility or access."

Operators have a choice of five bucket designs, including high volume buckets and a bale and silage grapple, as well as a pallet fork and bale probe.

User-friendly design Available in either flat deck with ROPS or cab configurations, the JXU offers a user-friendly operator environment with both left- and right-hand entry, tilt and telescoping steering and deluxe analog instrumentation. Operators enjoy excellent visibility with the exclusive Case IH sloped hood design, even when a loader is attached.

JXU cab configurations offer additional capabilities for increased productivity including electronic draft controls and a digital performance monitor. The Case IH performance monitor allows the operator to monitor battery status and PTO speed, as well as theoretical ground speed, total area worked and area covered per hour. Add a radar option and those measurements become actual.

In the field, electro-hydraulic engagement of the MFD and four-wheel differential lock will keep the JXU performing in tough conditions. In addition, the three-point hitch provides a 7,900-pound lift capacity - highest in the industry. Standard telescopic links and stabilizers and the ability to raise and lower the hitch either in or outside the cab make attaching implements extremely easy.

"JXU Series Maxxima tractors offer the features, versatility and reliability that farmers need in the tractor they depend on day in and day out," says Weicksel. "They are well suited to the full-range of utility applications, from baling hay, to field cultivating, to loader work, to rough mowing."
