As more producers utilize satellite guidance technology on their vehicles to bring greater efficiency to their farming operations, John Deere continues to expand the line-up of guidance products by introducing AutoTrac SF1.

"With the addition of AutoTrac SF1, customers have more choices to match this technology with their own vehicles, crop production plans, and techniques," says Gordon Culp, marketing manager John Deere Ag Management Solutions. "AutoTrac SF1 offers an economical system with thirteen inch pass-to-pass accuracy to help operators make consistent, straight passes through the field."

This new system is for broad-acre applications that do not require row-crop accuracy. There is no subscription fee for the StarFire SF1 differential correction signal. The system uses the three common components; the StarFire iTC SF1 receiver, the GreenStar display, and a mobile processor with an AutoTrac SF1 KeyCard. These components can be moved to any AutoTrac-ready vehicle.

"When you buy the John Deere AutoTrac SF1 system, you also have the ability to upgrade to higher accuracy," explains Culp. "All AutoTrac systems use the same GreenStar components so, you only need to purchase additional software to update to AutoTrac SF2 which has 4 inch pass-to-pass accuracy."

John Deere also offers AutoTrac RTK which uses satellite and land-based differential correction for sub-inch accuracy. With the addition of AutoTrac SF1, customers will have a complete line of guidance products to choose from and can match accuracy and performance with their operational needs.
