Kubota adds hydraulic shuttle to M5700 and M6800 tractors

A hydraulic shuttle transmission with hydraulic wet clutch has been added to Kubota's “tough as nails” M5700 and M6800 loader tractors.

Kubota's hydraulic shuttle transmission allows for smooth and quick shifting between forward and reverse without the need to push in the clutch. The hydraulic shift lever is located within easy reach of the steering column. The 4-speed main shift is fully synchronized, in combination with the high/low range provides 8 forward and 8 reverse speeds. With the optional creep speed kit installed, gear range increases to 12 forward and 12 reverse.

A multiple plate wet disc clutch system replaces the dry type main clutch. The “hydraulic wet clutch” provides durability and a long operating life. The wet clutch has a steady stream of filtered hydraulic oil that keeps the clutch discs and plates cool, reducing friction for smoother operation. The hydraulic wet clutch system utilizes two independent clutch packs, one for forward and the other for reverse speeds.

A mechanically actuated shuttle valve controls the directional flow of oil to the correct clutch when shifting between the forward main clutch pack and the reverse main clutch pack. This allows the operator to shift between forward and reverse gears without clutching, and at the same time, reduces wear and tear.

Another benefit is a reducing valve that interlinks with the clutch pedal to allow setting pack pressure to best match the stroke of the clutch pedal. This makes half-clutch operations possible. In addition, the modulating valve ensures smooth starts and direction changes.

Complementing the hydraulic shuttle transmission and hydraulic wet clutch are the usual features that make Kubota’s M5700 and M6800 some of the best loader tractors around. These features include: Kubota’s E-TVCS diesel engines; bevel-gear four-wheel drive; hydrostatic power steering; live-independent hydraulic PTO; category I and II 3-point hitch; ISO-mounted semi-flat deck with hanging pedals; and choice of front loaders (depending on model).
