The Dyna-VT continuously variable transmission from Massey Ferguson, has received AE50 recognition from the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE). In making the award, ASABE cited the smooth, infinitely variable speed control, noting that the Dyna-VT offered "…versatility and precision through innovative technology, sophisticated features and easy-to-use, straightforward controls."

"Our customers immediately recognized the benefits the Dyna-VT offered them. With the AE50 award, ASABE has reiterated that recognition," says Adrian Crisp, Product Marketing Manager, Massey Ferguson tractors. "The Dyna-VT makes the operator more productive and the tractor more fuel efficient as it perfectly matches desired speed, load and power needs. Add the Quadlink suspended front axle, and you have road speeds of up to 32 mph, leaving more time to get fieldwork done."

The Dyna-VT offers two infinitely variable speed ranges for field or transport. Speeds range from a high of 32 mph to a super-slow crawl of only 60 ft. per hour. In addition to setting operating speed independent of engine rpm, the innovative transmission also allows the operator to pre-set operating speed controls in each speed range. The transmission also offers the operator a choice of four control modes. Three are pedal modes: Power for heavy duty applications; Economy for light duty and offering improved fuel efficiency; and Forager which controls ground speed while maintaining engine speed and power. The fourth is a lever mode for general-purpose situations.

According to the ASABE AE50 award announcement, "Dyna-VT provides operators of all kinds with a tractor that will do more in a day, increasing productivity and efficiency and strengthen bottom lines day after day."

"It is the combination of simplicity and efficiency that really sets the Dyna-VT apart from the competition and grabs the attention of our customers," says Crisp. "Like the AE50 judges, they appreciate user friendly technology that makes them more productive."
