Massey Ferguson has introduced three brand new utility tractors with advanced features typically found on bigger tractors. The new 2600 Series tractors come with options like 8x8 shuttle transmissions, a choice of live or independent PTO, and a 4WD option for all three models. They also feature the newest in Massey Ferguson tractor styling.

All three tractors are powered by naturally aspirated Simpson® diesel engines, known for reliability and fuel efficiency. The engines feature direct fuel injection and are Tier II compliant for emission standards. The new Model 2605 (3-cylinder engine) is rated at 38 engine hp; the Model 2615 (3-cylinder engine) is rated at 49 engine hp; the Model 2625 (4-cylinder engine) is rated at 63 engine hp.

“We have engineered these new utility tractors to give the weekend farmer or acreage owner a versatile, stylish, easy-to-operate machine that will allow them to get more jobs accomplished in less time, so they can enjoy more leisure time on weekends and days off,” according to Denis Alize, Product Marketing Manager. “But, most owners will find the 2600 Series tractors so easy to use they probably won’t consider it work.”

All three models can be equipped with front loaders to haul bales or bulk materials, tillage tools to work up crop or garden plots, and heavy-duty mowers to cut down grass and weeds. “Our diesel engines, along with the field-proven drive train components, deliver plenty of power and torque for a wide range of chores,” says Alize. “And with the choice of transmissions, you can tailor your 2600 Series tractor to your specific needs.”

A synchronized 8 x 8 shuttle transmission is available on both Models 2615 and 2625 tractors. The SynchroShuttle transmission is ideal for loader work where frequent changes of direction are necessary. The operator only has to depress the clutch and move the shuttle lever to change direction of travel. All three 2600 models are available with an 8 x 2 CenterShift transmission with eight forward speeds, including two transport gears and two “lugging” gears for jobs like rotary tilling.

All three 2600 models are available in 2WD or 4WD versions to fit the operators needs. 2WD models feature telescoping tread-width adjustment in 4-inch increments, while 4WD models allow tread-width settings by positioning the pressed-steel center dish in the outer rim. All 2600 tractors are engineered with three separate hydraulic systems, each with individual hydraulic pump, for hydrostatic steering power, 3-point hitch control, and an auxiliary hydraulic system for rear remote hydraulic power.

All 2600 Series are available with a choice of live or independent PTO. The Independent PTO option features an electro-hydraulic control for engaging or disengaging equipment while on the move, and modulating engagement for smooth equipment start-up. Live PTO comes with a two-stage clutch for engaging equipment and bringing it up to speed before moving the tractor.

Massey Ferguson’s 3-point hitch system is standard on all 2600 Series tractors. The top link draft sensing will increase productivity and reduce slippage by transferring weight from any 3-point mounted tillage implement to the tractor. Cross drilled ball ends allow easy switching between Category I and Category II implements.

Operator comfort and safety features include the retractable seat belt and adjustable padded seat with spring suspension, and an ASAE certified folding ROPS. The low, straddle-mount type operator platform makes it easy to get on and off the tractors, plus allowing good legroom. Clearly labeled controls and dash gauges make it easy for even inexperienced operators to rapidly “get the hang” of operating 2600 Series tractors. The all-steel one piece hood lifts up for easy service and maintenance. Clam-shell fenders protect the operator from mud and debris, while allowing excellent visibility of equipment and field conditions.
