Massey Ferguson has added two brand new models to its compact tractor line. These new Models 1529 and 1532, offer buyers advances in compact tractor power and versatility, at competitive prices designed to give owners the best combination of power and cost efficiency in the industry.

The 1529 is rated at 28.4 engine horsepower and features an 8x8 SynchroShuttle transmission that makes tough jobs like loader work and material handling as easy as larger-size tractors, especially with the optional factory-installed joystick. The 1532, rated at 33.0 hp, comes with an efficient 9x3 constant mesh gear transmission, and offers an 8x8 SynchroShuttle as an option. Massey Ferguson is introducing the new L100 front end loader especially designed for the 1529 and 1532 compact tractors.

“Both these new models will have a backhoe model available too, and both the 1529 and 1532 have the capability to power the full range of implements and attachments designed for the Massey Ferguson compact line,” says Chris Box, Product Marketing Specialist. “Whether cleaning out a stable, moving dirt or gravel, finish mowing or clearing snow, these new compacts give owners more productivity and versatile work applications, at new-tractor prices that will make every job more cost efficient,” Box says.

For example, the 1529 and 1532 feature heavier front axles for added 4-wheel drive power when needed on tough jobs. The 8x8 SynchroShuttle transmission (8 forward/8 reverse speeds) allows the operator to shuttle from forward to reverse without stopping the tractor, so loader jobs can be handled faster. The new L100 front loader is designed specifically for the two new tractors and can be factory installed, along with the optional joystick. The L100 loader can lift over 1,200 lbs. to full height (measured at the pivot pin).

The 1529 and 1532 compact tractors are equipped with a Category I 3-point hitch, with lift capacity over 2,400 lbs. at the hitch point. Both models come with independent 540 rpm PTO, and a mid-mount 2000 rpm independent PTO is available as an option (excluding the 9x3 transmission). Each PTO can be run separately or simultaneously.

Operator comfort and safety includes a folding ASAE certified ROPS, retractable seat belt, adjustable padded seat with spring suspension and adjustable arm rests. Operating gauges and indicators are conveniently located and readily visible on the automotive style dash. Operator controls are logically placed and easy to reach, including both the foot throttle positioned naturally by the operator’s right foot, and the hand throttle on the right side of the steering column. The isolation-mounted platform is designed to minimize vibration and the entire platform is covered with a molded rubber floor mat for added comfort and easy cleaning. “Comfort and convenience for operators was a major objective in the design of these new compacts,” says Box.

Both the 1529 and 1532 are engineered with advanced 3-cylinder diesel engines that meet Tier II EPA emissions standards. Servicing is easier with the removable side panels and tilt-up steel hood, although the operator can check engine oil level without opening either the side panel or hood. The air cleaner is located in front of the radiator for easy checking and filter replacement.

“The 1529 and 1532 compact tractors are designed to give owners maximum versatility for all types of work applications,” says Box. “With selected options to best fit the owner’s job requirements, these tractors offer many ‘full-size’ tractor functions, yet still provide the maneuverability and low clearance profiles to work in tight quarters.”
