The next generation Valtra T Series has been designed to meet the needs of today’s professional farmers and contractors. The new tractor is the proud successor of the classic 8000 Series and the original T Series. The new T Series combines the traditional power and strength of Valtra tractors with the unparalleled versatility offered by Valtra’s à la carte customer order system and the comfort achieved by utilising the very latest technology.

The most obvious visual change to the T Series is the new cab, which has been designed to increase comfort, efficiency and safety. New sound insulation further lowers noise levels inside the cab, while the longer travel of the new cab suspension allows the driver to float over bumps. In addition, the cab features a new option of Xenon working lights at the rear to help extend the workday into the night. Valtra’s class-leading ergonomics have been further perfected, and all key functions can now be operated conveniently from the driver’s armrest in Advance models. Valtra’s unique TwinTrac reverse-drive system now features centrally-aligned controls at the rear of the cab. Other improvements designed to improve the efficiency of the T Series include electronically adjustable and heated side mirrors, a one-section door for improving visibility and a new brake booster in the bigger models.

The nose of the T Series may seem familiar, but a revolution has taken place beneath the engine cover. The new T Series is powered by six-cylinder 6.6- and 7.4-litre Common Rail SisuDiesel engines that comply with Tier 3/Stage III A emissions regulations. The new engines offer between 139 and 211 horsepower (ISO 14396) depending on model. All engines feature third-generation electronic engine management (EEM) developed by Sisu Diesel. Together Common Rail and EEM technology offer many advanced functions, such as low idle (650 rpm) when the handbrake is applied. Transport boost is also available on certain models, providing extra power when the tractor is driven in H2 gear or higher. The new engines are also quieter and with more torque.

The EcoPower engine option, which originally was introduced in 1999, has been revolutionised. The T151e model essentially combines two tractors in one. At the push of a button the driver can select between EcoPower, which conserves both fuel and the environment, or normal engine mode. EcoPower lowers the maximum engine speed from 2200 to 1800 rpm while increasing torque by approximately 100 Nm. This lowers fuel consumption by around 10 percent, increases the lifespan of the engine, lessens environment loads and produces less noise.

The new T Series offers a range of hydraulics and transmission options according to three model classifications: Classic, HiTech and Advance. Classic models offer mechanical transmission and hydraulics control, and basic idea is to maintain them as straightforward high horsepower tractors. HiTech models offer electronic transmission control and mechanical hydraulics control. Advance models feature load-sensing hydraulics, and the transmission can be controlled with a single lever. Advance models also feature five double-action hydraulic valves and two on/off valves. The load-sensing hydraulics have a maximum capacity of 115 litres per minute, making it easy to control even the most complex implements, such as wide pneumatic sowing machines. EcoSpeed is designed especially for transporting. Tractors specified with EcoSpeed offer the possibility to drive 40 km/h at 1800 rpm reducing fuel consumption.

The new T Series utilises the latest electronic features. The U-Pilot headland management system in Advance models makes often repeated manoeuvres simple. Naturally, the new T Series HiTech and Advance models are also ISOBUS compatible.

A new model numbering system has been introduced for the next generation Valtra T Series that is consistent with that adopted for the new N Series. The first two numbers of the model type refer to horsepower, as before, while the last number refers to the model generation.

As with all other Valtra tractors, the new T Series is based on the à la carte customer order system. Each Valtra tractor is custom built according to an individual customer order. Valtra offers hundreds of equipment alternatives and options and up to a million different combinations of these. Valtra’s à la carte system offers customers precisely the tractor they need directly from the factory. The level of customisation extends beyond small optional details and includes basic components such as the cab, hydraulics, transmission, front axle, engine and tyres. Central to the à la carte system is the possibility for all customers to visit the factory to watch their own tractor being built.
