Valtra's new M Series is the first line of tractors in the world offering 150 horsepower from a four-cylinder engine. The design of the M Series has been determined by three main demands: versatility, efficiency and economy in their broadest sense. Combined in one tractor, these advantages guarantee a productive lifespan - far into the future.

Wide doors make entry into the M Series spacious, light, cab easy. With many key functions located in the armrest, the comfortable seat and general ergonomics ensures operator comfort. Electronically controlled hydraulics add to the quiet atmosphere. The cab's heating system and optional air-conditioning maintain a pleasant operating environment and in such a spacious cab it is easy to find a comfortable working position. Forward vision is excellent, enhanced by the vertical exhaust and a carefully designed engine cover. The new engine cover also facilitates easy servicing.

The modern design language of the M Series continues that of the internationally recognised and awarded S and T Series machines.

Valtra's TwinTrac reverse drive system provides an opportunity to significantly increase productivity: The driver simply swivels the seat – no need to get up – to be faced with the required operating controls duplicated at the rear, vision of rear mounted equipment is excellent.

Compact yet powerful, the M-Series is an excellent front-loader tractor with loader control available through the arm-rest mounted joy-stick. The programmable transmission and differentials significantly increase productivity while reducing fatigue. The optional self-levelling air suspension system also increases driver comfort when using the tractor with a front-loader by maintaining the correct angle regardless of load. An air suspended front axle means the M Series is well suited to both bumpy roads and uneven fields.

M Series tractors are powered by a series of diesel engines designed and manufactured by Sisu Diesel. Providing incredible output, these engines are just one of the advantages offered to customers by their new Valtra tractor. Valtra engines are known for their reliability and excellent fuel efficiency and all M Series engines feature electronic management and air-to-air intercooling with viscous fans. A powerful battery and electronic preheating system guarantee start-ups even in the coldest weather. Standard fuel capacity is 165 litres and this may be increased by specifying the optional 170-litre reserve fuel tank.

M Series fully programmable hydraulic services are designed to provide the sophisticated requirements of modern implements yet they are simple to use. The total lift capacity is 7.2 tonnes and with Valtra's Autocontrol with Drive Balance Control even the largest implements can be used easily and in safety and with the main hydraulic controls located in the seat arm rest implement operation simplified still further. Uniquely, Valtra allows the customer to choose whether the control and armrest should be situated on the right or left-hand side.

The M Series can be equipped with six valve blocks, four of which can be programmed to meet implement needs or according to the operator's requirements. These electronically controlled hydraulic valves and the front-loader mechanism form a single package. The maximum pump output is 91 litres/minute however; the system automatically detects changes in demand and adjusts flow accordingly, allowing the balance to be used by other valves or by the front loader. The system allows four valves to remain in a floating position and the system can be controlled using either pushbuttons or the armrest joystick.

The direction of M Series tractors can be changed smoothly and rapidly using the shuttle lever, this same lever also operates the automatic parking brake. The tractor can be brought to a halt using either the brakes or by simply reducing engine speed to under 1000 rpm. The tractor is then set in motion again by simply pressing the accelerator or releasing the foot brake. In addition, the M Series automatically engages four-wheel-drive when starting or changing directions. This prevents wheel spin and the resulting damage to the field surface. Valtra's Powershift can be used to change gear automatically as required. These changes are made based on criteria detected by the tractor's own electronics or can be pre-programmed by the operator according to experience and need.

When changing directions, the operator can use the Powershift to change the speed by up to 54% in either direction as required. Regardless of the electronics, the operator can always change gears manually using the standard pushbuttons. The M Series instrument panel is connected to the transmission and engine electronic management systems. This allows the panel to display information about all vital functions of the tractor. It can also display area covered and distance travelled. The size of display graphics is adjustable to meet individual requirements.

At 115hp the M120 is fitted with a low speed engine that provides exceptional torque. Long service intervals and low fuel consumption make the M120 an economical and efficient machine.

The midrange 130hp M130 can be equipped with Valtra's HiTrol turbine clutch. This service-free clutch is a popular option on many farms for front-loader work and other shuttle operations and in grass fields, particularly with heavy trailers, where a smooth start is essential to prevent damage to the sward by spinning wheels. The smooth starts possible with HiTrol have also proven its worth during forest operations.

At 147hp the M150 is the flagship of the range offering unparalleled power reserves for use with large implements. The M150 is highly manoeuvrable and put quite simply, it is the world's most powerful four-cylinder tractor.
