Valtra expands Suolahti tractor assembly plant

Valtra
-

Partek's tractor business, Valtra, will expand its assembly plant in Suolahti, Finland during 2002 and 2003. The expansion is motivated by the continuously growing international demand for Valtra tractors. The size and the versatility of the tractors is increasing and this also influenced the investment decision.

Production in Suolahti will reach almost 10,000 tractors this year. The new investment will enable additional production of 2,000 tractors already in 2003. The 5,000 square meter expansion will increase the total plant size to more than four hectares. The 183 meter long assembly line will lengthen by 57 meters. The investment in the assembly plant will amount to almost EUR 8 million.

During the past few years, Valtra has invested significantly in product development and spare part logistics. Together with the plant expansion these investments will enable profitable growth for Valtra also in the future.
