Deere & Company began producing lawn tractors in 1963 with the introduction of the John Deere model 110. The facility in Horicon, Wisconsin, the former Van Brunt grain drill factory, is the historical home of Deere's lawn and garden tractor manufacturing. Currently, however, certain models and components are also built in Tennessee and the Carolinas. Deere & Company has traditionally only sold equipment through its dealer network, although it has created a smaller line of lawn tractors that are available through large retailers.
