    Ingersoll Tractor History

ingersoll-4120-1.jpgIngersoll was founded when Jack Ingersoll bought the Case Outdoor Power Equipment Division in 1983. The division traced its roots back to Colt garden tractors in the early 1960s. Ingersoll continued to produce garden tractors in Winneconne, Wisconsin using the hydraulic drive systems pioneered by Colt. Ingersoll was purchased by Eastman Industries in 2005, and production was moved to Portland, Maine in 2006.
