Versatile Tractor History

Versatile model 450 tractorVersatile is a Canadian manufacturer of four-wheel drive and large row-crop tractors. Verastile traces had its roots with the Hydraulic Engineering Company of Toronto, which was founded in 1947 making small agricultural implements. Versatile was purchased by Ford-New Holland in 1987 and build New Holland four-wheel drive tractors until CNH was required to divest the plant in 2000. Buhler Indutries acquired the Winnipeg factory and branded the tractors as Buhler-Versatile. In 2007, Russian farm machinery manufacturer Rostelmash acquired a majority stake in Buhler and returned to the Versatile name.
