The John Deere 4520 was upgraded for the 2009 model year (tractor serial number 650001) with an increase in engine power, optional 540e PTO, and eThrottle with the hydrostatic drive. During Nebraska testing, the John Deere 4720 was unable to produce the advertised 12 GPM hydraulic flow rate, actual flow was 11.3 GPM.
